I had a dream, a strawberry dream
that took me to a distant shore
that’s where I saw the strawberry princess
that’s where I heard her sing
and then I knew
her soft brown eyes
would invite me back again
the fragrant gales
of the southern winds
would sail my ship to her
I saw the stars glow from her soul
and whisper
the strawberry song of sleep
I took her hand
and walked the sand
of the strawberry island shore
her honeycomb hair
of a golden lullaby
shone under the moonlight’s air
and when she vanished
behind the night
she said “goodbye”
and kissed my cheek
I’ll miss you
my strawberry dream
